On 16 December, quite a few drivers were startled when they saw a car on fire in the lot next to one of Stateta’s filling stations. This was an ‘intentional’ fire – Stateta was carrying out training with the Alytus Fire Rescue Service (AFRS).
Our goal is to ensure that in the event of a fire, our service station employees are not alarmed and know what to do to put the fire out. During the training, employees learned about various potential filling station fire situations and how to deal with them.

In order to make the knowledge more than just theoretical, a car was set on fire during training that the employees learned how to put out with various types of fire extinguishers. After the training, they confirmed that they are no longer afraid of using a fire extinguisher and now know exactly what to do in one situation or another.
At the end of the training session, the entire car was set on fire and firefighters were called in. This was a great drill all around. We plan to continue collaborating with the AFRS and hold more training sessions so that we are prepared to ensure the safety of our customers.
